The season 3 finale of ‘World Trigger’ is set to release around the world this week, but has the hit anime series been renewed for season 4?

The 2022 Winer anime slate is off to a fantastic start with the premiere of Attack on Titan, Tokyo 24^th Ward and My Dress-Up Darling.

However, there is one final series from the Fall schedule that is still awaiting its final episode…World Trigger.

The epic anime will soon reach its third television conclusion after the broadcast was delayed last week, but fans are already looking ahead to what the future could hold.

So, what time will the finale air on Crunchyroll, has World Trigger been renewed for season 4 and what date could it release worldwide?

World Trigger season 3 finale…

The upcoming season finale World Trigger, season 3 episode 14, is scheduled to launch around the world on either Saturday, January 22nd or Sunday, January 23rd depending on your international location.

The episode was delayed from its usual broadcast last week because its programming block in Japan was replaced with news coverage of the Tonga Volcano eruption.

World Trigger season 3 episode 14, titled “Resolve”, is expected to release from the following times around the world, as confirmed by the anime series page on Crunchyroll:

Pacific Time – 10:30 AM PST
Eastern Time – 1:30 PM EST
British Time – 6:30 PM GMT
European Time – 7:30 PM CET
India Time – 12 AM IST
Philippine Time – 2:30 AM PHT
Australia Time – 5 AM ACDT

The season 3 finale will premiere for free users at the described times the following week.

Has World Trigger been renewed for season 4?

At the time of writing, the World Trigger anime has not been officially renewed for season 4 by Toei Animation, the studio behind the hit series. However, with the season 3 finale set to broadcast in just a few hours, fans shouldn’t be too concerned by the lack of information regarding the series’ future.

In fact, the future of World Trigger remains extremely bright, leaving many fans optimistic that the show will return as expected for a fourth television broadcast. This is because anime renewals typically depend on two factors, popularity and the availability of source material – two aspects that World Trigger has in the bag already.

Whilst Crunchyroll does not officially share its viewership statistics for simulcast titles, World Trigger has maintained its popularity with a global audience throughout its television broadcast.

At the time of writing, the anime is scoring 4.4/5 on Crunchyroll, 7.5/10 on IMDB and 8.7/10 on RatinGraph. On the popular MyAnimeList website, the third season has been rated as the best season out of the three World Trigger instalments so far, sitting at a solid 8.22/10 score.

Similarly, the anime adaptation of World Trigger has not yet covered the entire content available in the original manga series.

According to Monsters and Critics, season 3 will roughly cover up until volume 22 chapter 196 of the original manga. The good news for fans is that 24 complete volumes have been published in Japan, meaning there should be enough source material for a fourth instalment available soon.

What date could World Trigger season 4 release?

Whilst the future of the World Trigger anime appears extremely bright, fans should prepare themselves for a long wait for season 4.

As previously mentioned, season 3 is expected to adapt up until volume 22 of the manga. However, with only 24 total volumes currently being published in Japan, the production team at Toei Animation will need to wait until more volumes have been released in order to provide enough source material for another anime season.

Season 3 ended by adapting up until chapter 160 in the manga, with season 4 expected to cover up until chapter 196 – indicating that roughly 30-40 chapters are needed for a full anime season.

Based on the current rate that new volumes are being published in Japan, fans can expect enough source material to be available by Summer 2022 – although the release for volume 25 has not yet been confirmed.

All-in-all, World Trigger season 4 is expected to premiere in either October 2022 on the Fall broadcasting slate, or January 2023 on the Winter schedule.
