Will Betty And Jughead Get Back Together In Riverdale Season 7? Explained

Riverdale, a very popular show, is in its seventh and final season. The season starts this very week. The previous few seasons have explored the vastness of multi-universes. The fans have seen highs and lows throughout the show.

There have been football-related high school events, but this season is different. We return to the Archie comics this season, and fans are loving it already. Betty, Archie, Jughead, Veronica, and all the other characters are thrown back into the year 1955 to the time when Bailey’s comet struck Riverdale. This is all the way back to the previous season’s conclusion.

One kiss might hold all the information about the show. The characters have almost no info about what their former lives were since they were transported back to 1955. It comes from Betty and Jughead, a relationship that has not had much since the last few seasons. They have been fairly subdued or dormant the last two seasons.

What’s up for Jughead and Betty in Season 7?

The High school students were having a make-out party after Veronica Lodge suggested it. Jughead initially objects, calling himself a “germophobe,” but ultimately chooses to go in order to avoid being identified by the authorities as a murder accessory. You know, typical teen behavior.

When it was Betty’s turn, who is currently dating Kevin, not aware he’s secretly gay, she stood up and had a cute/awkward moment with Jughead. There is some connection between them that all #Bughead fans feel, and they really want the two to be together again.

This kiss between the two is very crucial, though, since it emphasizes the fact that this season’s protagonists still remember their emotional memories even though they may not remember their temporal ones.

Betty and Jughead: Timeline 

Sure, the couple had their own share of ups and downs in the relationship. Their chemistry had been loved by the fans since season 1 of Riverdale. In the first season of Riverdale, Betty, after getting turned down by Archie on the night of the school dance, focuses on investigating Jason Blossom’s murder with Jughead. It was during this investigation the two of them came close to each other. 

In Season 1, Episode 7,  Jughead takes Betty home while holding hands while it is raining. Romantic, isn’t it? The two start conversation, with Jughead reassuring Betty once more that she has been treating Polly well. Betty gives Jughead a kiss, thanks him for taking her for a stroll, and tells him she will call him later.

Later, their romantic relationship had highs and lows. Until Season 4, when Jughead pretended to die, so Betty and Archie formed a phony romance to give the impression that Betty was moving on.

Are Betty and Archie the Endgame?

KJ Apa was uncertain about Archie’s future. He said that he himself is pretty anxious and waits to see. The actor discussed the future possibility of Archie and Betty after the kiss that he shared with his ex-girlfriend Veronica. He said about the future that Archie is pretty happy currently with the time spent with Betty. The two might plan a future together, where they see themselves settling as a family. They might get married and probably have children together. But the kiss did not mean anything more as of now. It was just a normal kiss, nothing more.

There was also a query related to Jughead and Betty reconsidering their past relationship and coming to good terms again. He said he was not much concerned about it for now.

The character’s time in the 1950s can bring a whole lot of changes to the show’s dynamics, and it now just remains to be seen. Betty is currently torn between the redhead and Reggie, which might be because of Archie and Cheryl’s possible pregnancy. The couple, though, is dating for now.
