‘If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes’ puzzle
The puzzle has been circling social media for years but has seen a resurgence in 2023. It goes like this…
- If it takes 5 machines 5 minutes to make 5 widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?
So, what’s the answer? Find out below.
Answer to the confusing IQ puzzle
If you’re struggling, you’re not the only one. In fact, a whopping 83 percent of people the professor gave the test to failed and got at least one of the questions wrong.
Lots of people assume it’s 100, but the real answer is…
Each machine takes 5 minutes to make 1 widget. So, it will still only take 5 minutes for 100 machines to make 100 widgets.
It’s easy when you think about it! Now have a go at the ‘If you multiply this number by any other number’ riddle which is also stumping everyone.
