Thumbs and fingers fidgeting and twitching

Dad did the thumb twiddling long before he was diagnosed and I admit it would sometimes drive me round the bend because it was constant. He kept it up for years and it was very distracting when we were watching tv so in the end I repositioned myself so I couldn't see it. He also started on the head picking during his last couple of years and whatever I did I I couldn't stop him, it was just something that he did.

In fact I can remember googling finger twiddling many years ago when I was suspecting some kind of dementia to see if it was connected and I don't think I found a lot but I suspect that it may be connected.

I bought him a fidget wheel and told him that it was some kind of puzzle but he put it in the drawer never to be seen again.
