THE ROCK has muscles on top of muscles bulging out of his shirt as he vows to break golf's long drive world record.

The wrestler-turned-actor was filming new scenes for his HBO show Ballers when he took to the links.

Not really built for suppleness and flexibility, the People's Champ looked a bit awkward with a driver in hand.

But incredibly he claimed he smashed one drive 490 yards... before admitting he's not too good at maths.

He also endured a Sideshow Bob moment with a sneakily placed rake.

The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson, wrote: "The world record longest drive is 515 yards set in 1974.

"My drive here measured an estimated 490 yards by the scientists holding the rulers.

"I failed math when I was a kid, but I think that's kinda close. One fun day I will break the world record.

"Great day on the links shooting scenes for our HBO's Ballers.

"Subsequently, I also hit two other great balls... when I stepped on a rake."

The world record for the longest drive in a competition came from 64-year-old American Mike Austin during the US Senior National Open Qualifier at a course in Las Vegas.

Amazingly, it came on a 450-yard par four, so Austin's drive finished more than 60 yards past the green!

Brit Lucas Dornan is the current UK long drive champion.

Dubbed the "Usain Bolt of golf", Dornan can smash the ball more than 400 yards and is a competitor in the Long Drive World Series.

The Rock will have some way to go before he can match those guys.

But at least found time to thank two-time Major champion and possibly the best putter of all time, Jordan Spieth, for his apparel.

He added: "Big shout out to my bud and the man himself @jordanspieth for my gear."
