Robert McCall (Denzel Washington), a retired government assassin troubled by the awful things he's done for the cause of his country, continues to serve justice on the streets to help the persecuted find peace in his past. Robert McCall finds comfort in pursuing justice on behalf of the disadvantaged after giving up his life as a government assassin. He quickly learns that his new companions, who are now residing in Southern Italy, are under the control of regional criminal masters. As the situation grows dangerous, McCall defends them by going up against the mob.
