The Diner celebrates grand opening

They celebrated in Davenport for the grand opening of the latest addition to the Freight House. 

“The Diner” opened its doors today. 

You might remember Local 4 News first brought you the story of the restaurant about  month ago. 

Owner Tara Elkins said it’s been a long journey since she first wrote the business plan two years ago. 

“I’m just overwhelmed with happiness. I’m so excited,” Elkins said. “There’s been so many people, friends, family and the community that’ve come together to help support us opening and it’s amazing.”

Elkins says the store opens at 6 a.m. It’ll have hearty food and a full bar.
