The Moline-Coal Valley School District wants to merge two elementary schools in Moline.
The plan would redraw the school boundary lines for students at Lincoln-Irving and Willard elementary schools.
Administrators say the change would let more students take advantage of the dual-language program that they say is the only one of its kind in western Illinois.
Kindergarten through third grade students would go to Lincoln-Irving.
Fourth and fifth graders would go to Willard.
If the local school board approves of the change, it would take effect in the 2017-2018 school year.
