Roger Lundy Obituary: Roger Lundy, a resident of Greenwood, Indiana, and a Head Women’s Golf Coach at Franklin College has sadly passed away. “Indiana Golf is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of long-time staff member Roger Lundy. In addition to being a member of the Indiana Golf Team for over 20 years, Roger was a past Indiana PGA President and Franklin College Golf Coach. He was a mentor, coach, instructor and friend to so many. Our deepest condolences go to Denise, Peter, Paige, Connor and the entire Lundy family. He will truly be missed. Words cannot express the magnitude of the loss we are feeling. Rest in Peace, Rog.”

Who was Roger Lundy?

Roger Lundy, a native of Wausau, Wisconsin, attended D.C. Everest High School. He was a loving son to Deborah Day Lundy and devoted to Denise Lundy, his wife of over 40 years.

Roger was a beloved brother to Steve Lundy and a stepbrother to Kim Howell Lewsader, according to his social media website. Roger was a caring and devoted father of Pete, Conner Eastman Lundy, and Paige Mae Lundy.

He attended Ferris State University and worked as an Academy Director and PGA Professional for the Indiana Golf Foundation. He started his career in 2006 as the Franklin College head women’s golf coach and worked as the First Tee of Indiana’s programme director at the Gongaware Junior Golf Academy in Southern Indiana.

What happened to Roger Lundy?

According to a GoFundMe event organised by Elaine Smith, Roger was admitted to the hospital’s ICU isolation unit on October 25 due to pneumonia and sepsis. His kidneys were failing as well. He was placed on a ventilator, sedated, and intubated. Roger underwent surgery on October 28, 2023, to have his left leg amputated below the knee. Roger’s condition deteriorated on October 30, 2023, and he died on October 31.
