MrBallen Has Earned The Number One Spot On Spotify Podcast Chart

MrBallen, a former US Navy SEAL and mystery fan, has climbed to the top of Spotify’s list of true crime podcasts. MrBallen Podcast: Strange, Dark and Mysterious Stories premiered on Monday, February 14, beating out fan favorites like Addictive Crime and Murder, Mysterious and Killing. Make up. The first episode of the podcast series is called “The Plot”, about a real tense murder case involving Washington girl Rachel Burkheimer. In an official statement, the YouTuber expressed his desire to create the show, saying:

“I’ve loved telling stories that are bizarre, dark, and mysterious since I was a kid, sitting around a summer campfire.” My YouTube channel has allowed me to explore many strange stories, but I always wanted to develop more thorough, complex and interesting stories.”

John “MrBallen” Allen will release two weekly episodes, narrating terrifying true-crime stories and highlighting fan-favorite YouTube moments. Where does MrBallen come from?

The author grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts. He served as a Navy SEAL from 2012 to 2017 after expressing an interest in the military. Unfortunately, a grenade landed on his shoulder during deployment, causing shrapnel to lodge in his hips and legs. The YouTuber praised the ambulance crew that saved his life as “all-star”.

After serving in the military, he decided to retire in 2017. He has co-founded two successful groups that help former special forces find jobs. The 33-year-old gained widespread attention online after uploading a TikTok video of the Dyatlov Pass event, which went viral. However, he realized he couldn’t make a career on TikTok alone, so he started uploading videos of similar content to YouTube. The video maker currently has more than eight million TikTok followers and about 5.4 million YouTube subscribers. He covers many murder and disappearance stories on his channel based on trusted eyewitnesses. The content developer currently lives in Pennsylvania with his wife, Amanda, to whom he has been married for over ten years, and his two daughters and son.
