The concert was in celebration of the 15th birthday of the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiahand and it was attended by the Brunei Royal Family. As part of the setlist, Marva sang the female part of the duet “I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” with Michael Jackson.
She also starred in many popular movies, which are On the One (2005), Asunder (1999), Alien Nation: Body and Soul (1995) Bodies, Rest & Motion (1993) & many more. Marva is a Howard graduate who released her first studio album, Marva Hicks, in 1991.
