Kevin Foy Shooting; An Army Combat Veteran, Kevin Foy Passes Away in Germantown Police Shot
The family of the guy Germantown police shot and killed on Monday night outside a middle school has released his name. His relatives identified him as 32-year-old Kevin Foy of Lake Villa, Illinois.
According to his family, Foy was an Army combat veteran who was having trouble digesting his experiences, but they never imagined anything like this would happen. Kevin Foy’s brother, Joe Foy, claims that his brother has lived in Lake Villa, Illinois, which is near the Wisconsin border, for the past three years.
According to Joe, on Wednesday night, Kevin went to Germantown to pick up some items he had won at an auction. Joe noted that one of Kevin’s ways to gain money was by bidding on appliances, such ice machines.
According to Joe, he regularly helped with appliance repairs. Joe reported that Kevin had called just after six o’clock on Monday to report that his truck had broken down.
Joe later stated that he travelled to Germantown to hunt for Kevin after losing communication with him, but all he saw were police cars. Joe stated that the authorities told his family that Kevin had been shot and died early the next morning.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ), a man tried to enter Kennedy Middle School and was shot by police. The suspect then allegedly climbed to the school’s roof, according to the DOJ.
The man apparently opened fire on the officers at first, and they responded by shooting him dead. He had been acting oddly, according to the police. Joe Foy claimed that his brother was independent when it came to both his personal and professional life. Joe said Kevin had served two tours of service in Afghanistan and suffered from PTSD.
Additionally, Joe asserts that despite Kevin’s family’s best efforts to assist him, he mostly took his own path to recovery from trauma and showed little desire to assist. Joe stated that Kevin possessed a concealed carry certificate and was skilled with firearms.
According to Joe, Kevin’s family doesn’t believe he would intentionally hurt someone. Joe continued by saying that they are appreciative that nobody else was hurt that night.
