The Julia Clark Downs character from the well-liked AMC drama is based on a real person, and the show is filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She once split her time between the District Attorney’s Office and herself at one point in her career.
She worked as a consultant on the AMC drama series, which was a very useful position for them. One of the series’ goals is to make the legislation appear as authentic as possible, especially in the context of the state of New Mexico.
Despite the fact that it doesn’t appear that Julia Clark Downs ever had a direct role in the production of “Better Call Saul,” a lawyer by that name had her own firm in Albuquerque, where the program is both set and shot.
Julia Down, who was born in Evanston, Illinois, on May 25, 1978, to Emilie and Clark Down, grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Maryland in 2001.
Later, Julia became a volunteer sustainable agriculture coach for the Peace Corps in Panama. Between 2007 until 2010, Julia attended the University of New Mexico School of Law.
Julia held positions as an operation consultant at Cinnafilm, Inc., a program assistant at Landmine Survivors Network, and an executive assistant at the Institute of International Education. In 2009, she served as an intern for the US Army JAG as an extern for the Bernalillo County Attorney’s Office. Julia worked as a legal assistant for Will Ferguson & Associates from October 2010 to April 2011.
After passing the bar exam, Julia worked for more than six years as an associate district attorney in Valencia County, New Mexico, before resigning to devote more time to her son’s growth. In December 2017, Julia established her own practice in Albuquerque. She worked as the public defender for the Isleta Pueblo as well.

The story of “Fun and Games,” particularly the courtroom scene in which Kim announced her departure from the Bar, may have benefited immensely from Downs’ experience. Everyone appreciated her efforts.
