Another casino opened in the Quad Cities on Friday. The Isle of Capri made their historic 223 foot move.
The riverboat closed down earlier in the week and Friday was the grand opening of the new land-based casino. The new gaming floor is 35,000 square feet with three restaurants and a bar. Owners say they couldn’t be more excited about the changes.
“We tried to make it as easy as possible to get around as possible for the customer. Just tying the two hotels together and bringing all the food and beverage down to this level, I think just from an experience stand point it will be totally different.” said Eric Hausler, CEO of the Isle of Capri Casinos.
A few celebrities made an appearance. Vanna White was the Diamond Girl back when the riverboat opened and made a re-appearance at the grand opening. Hometown NFL Hall of Fame member Roger Craig rolled the first dice.
