APPLE tipsters believe it's working on different colours for the iPhone X and iPhone 8 to boost the pricey handset's sales.
Does that mean we'll see it at today's Apple event in Chicago? The focus of the gathering is on education, so it's doubtful.

Although Apple could pull a big red surprise out of the bag.
Currently the iPhone X is available in silver and space grey, with the iPhone 8 boasting a third gold option.
But it seems Apple is keen on painting the iPhone red...again.
Take this with a pinch of salt because I got it from a new and therefore still "unverified" source but I heard that new red colored iPhone(s) might be on his way...

In a tweet, handset leaker @Oneleaks said that red-coloured iPhones could be on the way.
That shade makes sense, seeing as Apple previously released a (Product)RED iPhone 7.
Proceeds from the phone were put toward providing access to life-saving ARV medication in sub-Saharan Africa, through charity RED.
That device landed in March, which bodes well for today's event.
After all, a new iPad and Apple Pencil are fine, but a new iPhone X just seems more exciting – doesn't it?

Meanwhile Japanese blog Macotakara said that Apple will release a gold iPhone X, claiming that the new colour is aimed at restoring sales.
It follows rumours from leaker Ben Geskin that Apple has a rose gold version of the device "in production".
In other Apple news, the company is expected to release its iOS 11.3 update today, which packs new animojis and a battery health feature.
Experts also think it's working on a foldable version of the iPhone that bends in the middle.

The device "could double up as a tablet", according to Wamsi Mohan, an analyst at top Wall Street firm Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
But it's not expected to arrive till 2020.
