Inside Tisha Campbell and Martin Lawrence's relationship amid BET reunion

Tisha Campbell and Martin Lawrence have reunited for the Martin reunion on BET+ – 24 years after the sitcom ended.
The co-stars may have played each other’s love interests on-screen but have had a rather rocky relationship at times away from the cameras.
However, the pair have only good things to say about each other now.

Tisha Campbell and Martin Lawrence once had a rocky relationship
The iconic sitcom duo will appear on Martin’s June 16 reunion on BET+.
Ahead of the special, Tisha appeared on CBS’ Morning show and talked about her relationship with former co-star Martin Lawrence.
“We worked really hard to reconnect, to forgive, and this reunion is about a celebration of everything we did, everything we accomplished, and our growth as human beings,” Tisha said.
What many fans may not know is in 1997, the My Wife And Kids actress filed a lawsuit against then co-star Martin claiming “sexual harassment, sexual battery, verbal abuse and related threats”, People reports.
Martin categorically denied those claims. Talking to GQ in 2020, the actor called the allegations a “lot of bullsh*t”.
When the interviewer dug deeper about the lawsuit, Martin said: “We don’t need to talk about something that just didn’t happen. So I just decided to walk away from the show. I just decided to end it. People said I got cancelled, but that wasn’t the case. I decided to just leave the show.”
The matter was ultimately settled out of court. However, the actor has since said he bears no ill-will to his former co-star.
“I love Tisha. I’ve seen her then and now, now and then, always with nothing but love,” Martin said. “I have nothing but love for her, and I always have.”
The 53-year-old actress said in her recent interview the two of them had “worked really hard to reconnect and forgive”.

Co-stars reunite for Martin reunion on BET+
The June 16 reunion of the sitcom Martin will feature most of its original stars, including Martin, Tisha, Carl Anthony, Tichina Arnold, and Payne II.
The reunion will be hosted by Affion Crockett although one cast member, Tommy Ford, died in 2016. The cast will take fans behind the scenes of the sitcom and discuss iconic moments.
Tisha’s family and kids
Tisha Campbell married actor Duane Martin in 1996. The couple were married for 24 years until they parted ways in 2020.
Tisha and Duane share two children: Xen Martin, 20, and Ezekiel Czar Martin, 12.
