Most email services provide a way to send out an automatic out of office reply to anyone who emails you during the time frame you specify. Here’s how to set up the auto-response feature in Yahoo Mail.

To begin, open your favorite browser and log in to your Yahoo Mail account. There are two versions of Yahoo Mail: the full featured, newer version and the basic version. Enter your alternate message in the box below the two domain boxes. Again, you can use the toolbar to change the font, apply formatting, or attach a file. You must send the same alternate response to both domains.

Once you’ve set up your main vacation response(s), click the “Save” button in the lower-left corner of the browser window (for the newer version of Yahoo Mail). The Options screen closes and you are returned to the main Yahoo Mail screen.

If you’re using the basic version of Yahoo Mail, click “Save” at the top of the Options tab to save your changes.

My husband and I are heading to Tahiti for three weeks on a big holiday. So excited! But I want to set up my Yahoo Mail so people don’t get worried if they don’t hear from me; is there a way to set up a vacation responder in Yahoo Mail?

Turns out that Yahoo Mail does support a vacation autoresponder and it’s quite easy to set up and specify a start and end date for your messages too. Yahoo Mail should also track what recipients have received your vacation autoresponder message and not send it twice, but I’m not quite sure of that.

And props to you for choosing to go to somewhere as exotic as Tahiti and then planning on being unplugged. Nowadays people seem to be unable to disconnect from the Internet for more than a few minutes and don’t be surprised if your lodging in even as exotic a location as Tahiti has wifi in each room or in the main lobby!

I’ll put dreams of warm tropical breezes aside, however, and jump into Yahoo Mail. Log in, then look on the top right for the gear icon:

You’ll want to select “Vacation response“, at which point you’ll then be able to turn on the Yahoo Mail Vacation Responder and specify the duration of your vacation and your email response message. Let’s start with the dates of your holiday:

Super easy to set up, really. Just realize that as far as Yahoo is concerned, your vacation starts at 1 minute after midnight and runs until midnight on the day you specify.

Got that to match your travel? Then you can compose your response message:

That line of icons at the bottom of the compose window? That lets you include an imagine, links, and modify the text you type in with bold, italics, different sizes, etc. My suggestion is to skip most all of these, however, in the interest of something that’s short and succinct. Like what I’ve typed:

All looks good? Notice if you have a different message for, people at your work than anyone else, you can set that up by checking the box “Send a different response to specific domains”. Failing that, however, one message for everyone works fine too. Once you’re done click on the blue “Save” button to get it all queued up.

A “vacation response” (also known as “out of office response” or “away message”) is an automatic message that is generated by the mail server in response to incoming messages. It is used to inform people who are sending you emails that you are not available.

Thunderbird has no simple way to communicate to the mail server that the server should issue vacation responses. These automatic email replies are fairly common (or even necessary) with some work environments, and so if you’re interested in setting one up on your iOS device then read on.

It’s important to note that not all email accounts support the auto-reply functionality on iOS, which is why we’re focused on Exchange email accounts primarily. If your email account service doesn’t support this feature, then the setting won’t exist on your devices iOS settings for that mail account. This is notably different from the Mac, where you set an auto-responder in Mail for Mac for any email account. Additionally, many mail providers allow you to set an auto-reply for vacations or “out of office” messages directly on the server, or through the web, but that process is different for each email provider and thus will not be covered here.

How to Set an Email Auto-Responder on iPhone and iPad

Here is how you can configure an automatic reply feature in a compatible email account for iOS:

Open the “Settings” app on your iOS device

If you’re using multiple email accounts and want each of them to have the automatic reply enabled, you will need to enable the feature for each specific account.

Again, remember that not all email account and email providers support the automatic responder feature, so this will not be a feature that is available in all mail accounts on iOS. Some third party email providers will support these features if you set them up as Exchange however, so if you want to research that on your own you could always add the email account to iOS as an Exchange account if that is applicable to you.

You can also set an email auto-responder on Mail for Mac if desired, and as already mentioned you can also setup auto-reply messages directly from many email providers on the server side too.

If you didn’t set an End Date during the configuration process, remember that you’ll need to turn off your email automatic reply manually when you no longer want it to be active. That can be done just by going back to the Settings app and turning “Automatic Reply” off again.

An out of office message is an essential tool for anyone who sends and receives a lot of email, since you can use it to keep contacts informed if you’re unable to reply to messages, whether it’s just for an afternoon or for a weeklong vacation.

Unfortunately, support for out of office messages is spotty on the iPhone. The default Mail app only allows you to set up automated responses for Microsoft Exchange email accounts.

If you use Gmail on your iPhone, you can set up out of office responses in the Gmail app. And if you use the Outlook app, you have slightly more options, as it supports out of office messages for Exchange, Office 365, and Outlook.com accounts.

Is there a way to have the autoresponder email when someone edits their form? В I receive the notification but the autoresponder does not appear to be sending out notifications В (or at least for the one existing entry that I tried). В New forms are now getting notifications.

Unfortunately Jotform does not send notification for Autoresponse when edited and yes only notification to you will be send. Let us know if you have further questions.

There’s indeed a workaround. Here’s how:

1. В Add a hidden box to your form and write any default value in it. This will served as your Notification Sender Name.

2. В Create a new notification for your formВ and name it to something like “edit-autoresponder” so you can easily identify it.

3. В Enter the email tag of your email field as the recipient. This will be repalced with user’s email once the edited form is submitted.

4. Set your hidden box field as the Sender Name.

By the way, to get your email field tag, just right click the email field, click “Show Properties” and check the tag under field details.

5. Now test it, it should fire this up when you edit and resend your form submissions.
