How do I enlarge a photo before I print it so It doesn’t pixelate? I did it one time but can’t figure it out again.

Going through your post, I understand that you are trying to enlarge the pictures before printing. You can use applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Microsoft Paint to enlarge the images before you print.

If you do not use an application such as Photoshop, you can use the Paint applications which comes with the Windows. Here are the steps:

• Click the Windows Start menu button and type “Paint.” When the “Paint” icon appears, click that icon to launch the Paint program.
• Press “Ctrl” and “O” to open Paint’s file selection window.
• Find the image you wish to print and double-click it. Paint will display the image on its editing canvas.
• Press “Alt” and “F.” A drop-down window opens.
• Hold your mouse cursor over the “Print” option to open the “Print Options” dialog.
• Click the “Page Setup” option. Paint opens the “Page Setup” window.
• Locate the “Scaling” section, and click “Adjust To.” Type a percentage value in the “Normal Size” text box. For instance, if you wish to print the image at 70 percent of its normal size, enter 70. Click “OK” to close the “Page Setup” window.
• Press “Ctrl” and “P” to open the “Print” window. Click one of the printers in the “Select Printer” section and click “Print.” Paint will send the image to that printer and adjust its size to match the value you entered in the “Normal Size” text box.

You can resize all charts in active worksheet with following steps.

Step 1: Select all charts in active worksheet.

You can select all charts with holding down Ctrl key. The following VB macro can also help you select all charts quickly:

Step 2: Now Drawing Tools is active in Ribbon. Go to the Format tab under the Drawing Tools.

Step 3: In the Size group, enter the shape height and shape width. See the following screenshot:

Then all selected charts in active worksheet are resized at the same time with same size.

Note : This way is valid for resizing all pictures too. If resize all pictures, you can find out the Size group under Format tab of Picture Tools.

Resize all pictures at the same time

There is another way to resize all pictures in active worksheet quickly and conveniently.

Step 1: Select all pictures in active worksheet.

The following VB macro can help you select all pictures in active worksheet quickly.

Step 2: Right click the selected picture, and select the Format Object item in the context menu.

Step 3: Format Pictures dialog box pops up, click the Size category in the left bar.

Way 1. How to resize an image in Microsoft Paint

1. Find and launch MS Paint. It’s pre-installed on all Windows OS versions. Go to Start >All Programs >Accessories >Paint or just type Paint in Start searh bar.
2. Add your image by drag-‘n-drop or Menu >Open (Ctrl+O).
3. On Home tab find the button Resize and click it.
4. You’ll see the Resize and Skew box, where you can change picture size by percentage if don’t know or have an exact figure. Alternatively, you may set the desired size in pixels. Don’t forget to check Maintain aspect ratio. Otherwise, you image will be stretched.
5. Click OK and save your picture.

• If you can’t attain the needed photo size without stretching it, you may use the Cropping tool to delete unwanted borders. See here how to do this (#3).
• To open photos faster, use right mouse button menu option “Open with Paint”.
• It’s better to save an image in the same format as the original.

Way 2. How to change image size in MS Photo Gallery

1. If you don’t have Microsoft Photo Gallery installed on your PC (Start >Photo Gallery), you need to download and install it as a part of Windows Essentials 2012.
2. Run MS Photo Gallery and find your graphic file.
3. Press right mouse button and choose Resize…
4. Choose a ready preset: Smaller 640 pixels, Medium 1024, Large 1280, etc.
5. Click Resize and Save. The resized image will appear in the same folder, the original one will also remain.

• If you need the exact picture size, in the dropdown menu pick up Custom and set the maximum dimension of your photo.
• To resize several photos at once, just hold down the Ctrl key and choose all pictures you want to resize.

Way 3. How to resize a photo with PhotoScape

1. Download and install PhotoScape here. Run the program.
2. Go to the Editor tab and find the photo you want to resize.
   
3. At the bottom your image find the Resize button and click it.
4. Set the new photo size. Make sure the option Preserve aspect ratio is checked and click OK.
5. Save the edited image.

• If you need to resize multiple images, use the Batch Editor tab. Add a folder and resize all photos in it.
• In case you don’t know the exact size, you may adjust the Ratio percentage of the original size.

Way 4. How to change image size using IrfanView

1. Get IrfanView – a great tiny tool for image viewing and most picture editing needs.
2. Add a photo you want to resize via drag-‘n-drop or by clicking the first button on the panel bar.
   
3. Go to the Image tab, choose Resize/Resample (Сtrl+R).
4. Set the new size in pixels, centimeters or inches, or as percentage of the original image.
5. Save the picture.

• You may use standard dimensions to resize your picture: 640×480 pixels, 800×600 pixels, 1024×768 pixels, etc.
• In order to keep the best quality of your photos, make sure the DPI figure is not less than 300.

Way 5. How to resize an image online

1. Go to PicResize website.
2. Click Browse to select your picture. Press Continue.
3. Choose the percentage of the original image, e.g. 50% smaller. The tool will give you the estimated final size. Alternatively, you may input the exact size by choosing Custom Size option in the dropdown menu.
   
4. Once ready, press I’m Done, Resize my Picture and wait a bit.
5. Then you’ll be able to preview your new image, save it to PC, resume edit or share image in the social media.
   

• You can resize an image from the Internet, without saving it to your PC. Just change From Computer to From URL.
• Limit output image file size to a certain value and the tool willautomatically adjust its quality.

This tutorial will show you step by step how to quickly resize multiple photos at once in Windows 10 without using extra software.

This will change the dimensions and also reduce the file size of the photos.

How to batch resize photos in Windows 10 without extra software

1. Right-click on your desktop > New > Folder.

2. Type a name for the new folder (e.g., Resized photos). Choose whatever name you want (the name doesn’t matter much).

3. Open File Explorer (Windows Explorer).

4. Go to the photos you want to resize.

5. Select the photos.

Two ways to select multiple photos:

• Press the [CTRL] and [A] key on your keyboard.
• Click on the first photo, press and hold the [SHIFT] key of your keyboard and then click on the last photo.

6. Right-click on the selected photos > Send to > Mail recipient.

A Attach Files window will appear.

7. Select the image size that you want from the dropdown menu (e.g., 640 x 480, 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, or 1280 x 1024).

Note: No matter what size you choose, the aspect ratio of your photos will be correct. For example, if you choose 800 x 600, then a 1280×720 image will still get the correct aspect ratio of 800 x 450.

The aspect ratio of a photo describes the proportional relationship between the photo’s width and its height.

8. Click on the Attach button.

9. Microsoft Windows will now try to open an email program like Outlook or Thunderbird. If you don’t have an email program, then you will get the following message: “There is no email program associated to perform the requested action”. It’s okay, because we don’t need an email program. Do not click on OK and do not close this message window.

10. Type %temp% into the Windows search bar.

11. Press the [Enter] on your keyboard.

The Windows Temp folder will open and here you will find the resized photos.

Note: If the search doesn’t work or the Temp folder doesn’t open, then follow the next few steps:

• Open File Explorer (Windows Explorer)
• Open Local Disk (C:)
• Open Users
• Open the folder with your username (e.g., Peter)
• Click on View located at the top.
• Check (select) Hidden items
• Open AppData
• Open Local
• Open the Temp folder

12. Click on Type located at the top of the Temp folder. This will sort all files by file type and will make all the photos stand together.

Alternatively, you can also type the file extension of the photos (e.g., .jpg, .png, .gif) in the search bar. This will make Windows Explorer show only photos with the file extension.

13. In the left sidebar, you click on the ❱ or ▷ icon next to Desktop so that the new folder (which you previously created) appears.

14. Drag the photos from the Temp folder to the new folder. To do so, you click with the left mouse button on the photos, then hold down the left mouse button, drag the photos to the new folder, and then release the left mouse button.

How to batch resize photos in Windows 10 using PowerToys

Microsoft PowerToys is a set of utilities for power users to tune and streamline their Windows 10 experience for greater productivity.

We’ll be using the PowerToys Image Resizer utility for resizing multiple photos at once.

You can download PowerToys from GitHub, here.

You can find the latest release at the top of the page.

To download PowerToys, you click on the EXE file with a name similar to PowerToysSetup-0.27.1-x64.exe.

Once the download is complete, you run the file to install PowerToys on your PC.

1. Open File Explorer (Windows Explorer).

2. Go to the photos you want to resize.

3. Select the photos.

4. Right-click on the selected photos and then click on Resize pictures.

A “Image Resizer” window will appear.

5. Select the image size that you want from the list or enter a custom size.

Note: No matter what size you choose, the aspect ratio of your photos will be correct. For example, if you choose 800 x 600, then a 1280×720 image will still get the correct aspect ratio of 800 x 450.

6. Click on the Resize button.
