There’s a new delivery service in the Quad Cities area that puts good food at your fingertips.

And now you can use it on both the Iowa and Illinois sides of the river.

Bite Squad is a food delivery service that’s been available in Iowa since August. But as of earlier this week, customers in Illinois can utilize it too.

Local 4 News went along for the ride on Thursday to see what the new business has to offer.

From the time Teresa Dumerauf clocks in to the last delivery of the day, she’s on a mission.

“It’s not your average pizza delivery any longer,” said Dumerauf. “Good restaurants. A little bit better food.”

Dumerauf joined the Bite Squad team when they launched in Davenport back in August, and she says she’s been hooked ever since.

“I love new companies and getting on board with them is probably one of the best things I’ve ever done,” she said.

And it’s her enthusiasm for the job that’s prompted the Minnesota-based company to grant her the title of Lead Bite Squad Driver for the Quad Cities area.

With her bright green uniform, Bite Squad bags in tow, and a matching home-made apron to hold what she needs, Dumerauf says while her job is to deliver good food fast, working for Bite Squad is much more than that.

“It’s been amazing for me,” she said. “It’s opened up a whole new world. I enjoy meeting people every day. Everyday I meet new people. Restaurant owners, customers, it’s amazing.”

And Dumerauf isn’t the only one enjoying the work perks.

For popular local places like Treehouse Pub and Eatery, located at 2239 Kimberly Road in Bettendorf, business is booming.

“As long as I’ve been here and Bite Squad has been here every single day it gets more and more busy, there’s more and more people ordering through the app, more and more people learning about what it is,” said Briana Leon, a bartender at Treehouse.

Leon added that the delivery service also introduces Quad Citians to local restaurants they might not know about in their area.

Giving Quad Citians a taste of something local without leaving the house.

“More people are wanting to spend time with their families at night,” said Dumerauf. “When they get home from a hard day of work  they don’t want to go back out but it’s nice to get a great meal.”

And while they aren’t the first food delivery service to hit the streets in the Quad Cities, Dumerauf says they add a little something extra that makes them stand out from the rest.

“We listen to our customers, to the restaurant managers.”

Which is why Dumerauf says whether you’re driving, preparing or enjoying the food…

“It’s a win-win for everybody all the way around.”

Starting Friday, November 16 through Sunday, November 18, anyone who places an order for delivery through Bite Squad from 10a.m. until 10p.m. will receive free delivery for a year.

You can find participating restaurants and order online, or download the mobile app.
