According to the Office of The Monmouth County Prosecutor, a multi-vehicle crash on Monday night in Marlboro has resulted in the deaths of two motorcycle riders.
On Monday night, July 24, 2023, the Marlboro Township Police Department responded to Route 18 northbound near County Road 520 for a report of a motor-vehicle crash, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the collision involved three motor vehicles and two motorcycles.
The investigation revealed that a 2019 Hyundai Tucson, a 2017 Subaru Impreza and a 2008 Mercedes-Benz 550 were the three vehicles involved in the crash, along with a 2005 Suzuki GSX and a 2001 Yamaha YZF motorcycle. Both motorcycle riders were pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the Tucson and their passenger were taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation involving members of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) and Marlboro Township Police Department is active and ongoing at this time, the office said.
One of the victim is now identified as Gregory Tutt of Keansburg, New Jersey.
