On Oct. 10, Greg Cox, Lindsey Watson, and their three children were driving from Flagstaff to the San Juan River when a truck crashed into their vehicle while attempting to pass another automobile in a no-passing zone on Highway 160, according to 3TV/ CBS 5. According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), Cox and Watson died at the site.

The couple’s kids, aged seven and five, were airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital and are currently recovering, according to a GoFundMe page set up by family members. The youngest child, aged one, was treated locally and is now in the care of her relatives.

“Honestly, it’s the worst thing that can happen to any child,” Watson’s colleague and friend Rachel Kalnbach said of the couple’s deaths. According to the publication, Kalnbach worked with Watson at Threaded Together, a sewing-focused nonprofit that Watson started in 2019.

Report of Investigation

“It’s a mother’s worst nightmare,” Eileen Baca, another Threaded Together employee, remarked. “Lindsey was a rock in this community.” She gave and gave and wondered what else she could do.” Watson was a qualified acupuncturist and dedicated mother in addition to her work with Threaded Together.

“She always talked about her babies,” Baca said. Watson was conversing animatedly about the Halloween costumes she planned to sew for her children a few days before the accident, according to Kalnbach.

“Many individuals in this neighbourhood were moved by his dreams of her. “Threaded Together is mourning, but the community is mourning in a big way,” she lamented. According to the outlet, Cox worked as a medical assistant at Flagstaff Medical Centre. One of many grieving friends described both husband and wife as “beautiful souls” in a Facebook tribute.

According to DPS, the truck driver was neither arrested or cited at the site of the accident. The incident is still being investigated. A GoFundMe for Cox and Watson’s loved ones had raised more than $111,000 of its $150,000 target as of Thursday afternoon.
