Gangland gun attack victim Robert Daniel was targeted by shooters after leaving a kids birthday party

GUN hit victim Robert Daniel was trailed from a kids’ birthday party, it was claimed last night.

Underworld sources believe shooters targeted the drug dealer, 42, at his home after he returned from a family bash.

The chilling claim sparked warnings of gangland revenge plots.

An insider said: “Robert was at a kids’ party with family on Sunday.

“Using family and kids to work out when targets are most vulnerable and when to strike shows how serious this has got. Anything goes.”

Cops quizzed Daniel — nephew of dead crime boss Jamie Daniel — in hospital as he recovers from the ambush in Stepps, near Glasgow.

Police and forensics teams remained at the scene yesterday as cops appealed for witnesses.

Detective Superintendent Kenny Graham said: “This was undoubtedly a targeted attack.”
