(NEXSTAR) – The first fully Pixar-themed hotel in the United States officially opened at Disneyland resort on Tuesday.
The 15-story hotel overlooking Disney California Adventure Park, which was previously Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, was recently reimagined into the Pixar-themed hotel.
“We are looking to turbocharge expansion at Disneyland Resort over the coming years, and the transformation of Pixar Place Hotel is a demonstration of how we’re creating high-quality guest experiences infused with our most popular stories,” said Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock.
The hotel also features a pool area inspired by Finding Nemo and a water play area where families can take a winding water ride down the “Finding Nemo”-inspired Crush’s Surfin’ Slide.
Disney says Joe Gardner from “Soul” may be found playing the piano near the hotel’s staircase at select times. And appearing for the first time at any Disney property, Bing Bong from “Inside Out” may be found creating core photo memories with guests at select times.
When the reimagined rooms are completed later this year, the hotel will include 479 total guest rooms.
Disneyland Resort will also host Pixar Fest from April 26 until Aug. 4. The celebration will include a new Pixar-themed parade at Disney California Adventure Park and a Pixar-inspired nighttime spectacular at Disneyland Park.
