Some parks in Colona will be getting major upgrades.
Colona is getting $300,000 in Illinois surplus money. Alderman Mick painter says the funds will be used to make improvements at seven of the city’s parks. The work will include adding security cameras, upgrading baseball dugouts, maintenance to buildings, playgrounds and adding a pickleball court to Hennepin Canal Parkway State Park.
There is currently no timetable for when the work will start.
