Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Parents Name – Ishwar Chandra Bandopadhyay popularly known as Ishwar Chandra Vidya Sagar was a significant figure in Indian education and social reform during the 19th century. Vidyasagar earned the honorific title Vidyasagar (“Ocean of Knowledge”) from the Sanskrit College in Calcutta for his outstanding undergraduate studies in Sanskrit and philosophy.
