With a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge and an MBA in International Business from the University of St. Thomas (TX), Carla brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her roles, spanning over 16 years at Chevron.

Carla’s commitment to technology and organizational transformation was evident in her recent role as Chapter Sr. Manager, Software Engineering at Chevron. In this capacity, she led and empowered a team of over 250 chapter employees, including sub-chapter head supervisors and Distinguished Engineer Architects. Her responsibilities included fostering the growth of technology capabilities, developing best practices, and ensuring the agile delivery of digital platforms to create business value.

During her tenure as IT Manager and Digital Advisor for Major Capital Projects from February 2019 to December 2020, Carla demonstrated her ability to lead a high-performing team of IM&IT SMEs within the Capital Projects Function. She played a pivotal role in increasing digital fluency within capital projects by creating a strategic digital roadmap, expanding the technology footprint, and driving the adoption of emerging technologies like AR, VR, drones, and advanced analytics.

Carla’s leadership extended to the role of Head, IT Supplier Management COE, from July 2016 to January 2019, where she served as the direct leadership contact for external IT vendors. Her strategic acumen and ability to manage multi-faceted relationships were crucial in identifying strategic, key, and niche partners for Chevron IT. Carla successfully managed a large IT supplier portfolio of approximately 1600 with an annual spend of around $1.5 billion, earning recognition for her achievements.

Her impact on Chevron was characterized by a commitment to driving change, building trusting relationships, and consistently delivering strong results.
