Buddy Teevens Accident: American college football player and coach Buddy Teevens, 66, passed away on Tuesday. He had been hurt in a bicycle accident in March 2023, and on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, he was tragically declared dead.
He was reported to be a disciple with the finest attributes of leadership, including bravery, self-control, perseverance, hard labour, and compassion. His passing is mourned by his friends, family, and the whole Dartmouth College community.
“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share that Buddy Teevens ’79, the Robert L. Blackman Head Dartmouth Football Coach, has died, following injuries sustained in a bicycle accident in March. Buddy was a Dartmouth original. He changed not only campus but the entire game of football, endeavouring to make it safer.”
What Happened to Buddy Teevens?
Buddy was struck by a Ford F150 while riding his bike in St. Augustine, Florida, on March 16, 2023. Only two miles separate the Teevens’ St. Augustine home from that of 40-year-old truck driver Jennifer Reann Blong.
Blong was travelling north at 50 mph in a 45 mph zone when the accident happened on State Road A1A at around 8:50 p.m., an hour after dusk. This location is about 1.5 miles from Teevens’ house in St. Augustine. Teevens lost his right leg as a direct result of the tragedy, which also left him with spinal cord injuries.
His accident-related wounds finally turned out to be fatal, and on September 19, 2023, he passed away as a result of them. In the United States, Eugene Francis “Buddy” Teevens III played and coached college football. He was born on October 1st, 1956, and he passed away on September 19th, 2023.
