Body recovered in Mississippi River was missing woman

A body recovered Sunday in the Mississippi River has been positively identified as a missing woman.
The Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that it received confirmation from the Lewis County coroner’s office in Missouri that the body recovered Sunday near Canton, Missouri was Laura A. Kowal.
The 57-year-old Galena woman was positively identified using dental records.
Her car had been located about 20 miles north in Warsaw, Illinois.
