Bettendorf YMCA celebrates expansion

The Scott County Family YMCA in Bettendorf celebrated their new expansion Saturday afternoon. 

The facility recently underwent a $4.5 million dollar renovation. Some of the updates include an 11,000 square foot fitness center and two full-sized gyms. 

Thanks to the expansion even more people can enjoy the already popular facility. 

 “It’s a big deal because our Y needed to expand here in the community. We’re a very busy Y. The Scott County Family Y as a whole has 37,000 members and we serves 1 in 3 kids, so we needed to add on to our facility here and we’ve done that,” said Branch Executive Director Missy Huff.

The YMCA is also waving membership activation fees this weekend to celebrate and welcome new members.
