Alyssa Milligan Accident – Obituary Arlington Heights, Illinois: Beloved Nashville Triathlon Club member struck and killed in Friday crash on Natchez Trace.
The Nashville Triathlon Club are mourning the sudden and tragic death of beloved member Alyssa Milligan.
23-year-old Alyssa Milligan was hit by a pickup truck on Friday, September 9, while riding her bike on Natchez Trace on Highway 100.
Milligan sustained severe injuries from which she unfortunately died from.
“We are heartbroken by the news of friend and NTC member Alyssa Milligan being fatally struck while cycling Friday,” the club announced in a social media post.
“New to our club, Alyssa always brought her joyful spirit, generosity, kindness, and encouragement to any swim, bike, run, or event. She raced her first Olympic triathlon just a few weeks ago with her beautiful smile on her face all day. She leaves a remarkable impact on our club members and our community. Please keep Alyssa and her family in your thoughts and prayers today and in the days to come.”
“Anyone that ran or biked with Alyssa will attest to what a sweet individual she was,” 12SouthRunners wrote on Facebook.
Alyssa lived in Mt Juliet. She just ran the River Bluff Olympic Triathlon. She ran in college for Wheaton. She often biked with the 11 Smiles an Hour Group.
A run in her memory was scheduled for September 11, at the group run at 6:30 PM starting at Outdoor Voices, 12SouthRunners said.
