A heartbroken Windsor, Maryland husband of 24-old Alyssa Gabrielle Richards who passed away few months after thanksgiving last year, as recounted their first thanksgiving celebration together.

Mason Richard wrote;Second Thanksgiving without you. I remember our first thanksgiving like it was yesterday. You met my whole family, both sides, for the first time after just a month or so of being together.

Once you met everyone, we both didn’t know it at the time but you got a taste of what your future in-laws and extended family would be like for the first time.

I’m surprised you didn’t run out the door and never talk to me again after the meeting the crazy family I have.

You decided to stay, to love me and build a life with me that most people dream of having and I know is a once in a lifetime love.

The amount of grief one has for another shows the amount of love the two shared. There is no time frame or hourglass. Where there is deep grief, there was great love. I am forever thankful for our family and friends. I am thankful for the little memories that are made each and every time I’m with the people that I love. Being rich is not how much money you have. Being rich is making those little memories, making someone laugh, helping someone in the smallest way possible but to them it might be much bigger to them. Be thankful for the people and memories you have. You never know when it’s the last time. Words fall short of expressing our grief for your loss, as we mourn with family and friends for this great loss. We are truly sorry to hear of the loss of this promising being.
