All the Coachella Day 1 surprise guests from Snoop Dogg to Justin Bieber

Coachella made a much-anticipated return on Friday 15th April 2022 as it finally welcomed artists back onto its stages after a two-year absence.

Day one of the California music festival did not disappoint as guests were amazed by a number of surprise guests and unexpected performances.

Here are all the surprise guests who appeared on the festival’s first day, from Snoop Dogg to Justin Bieber and we also delve into Harry Styles’ country music performance.

Coachella Day 1 surprise guests

Brazilian pop sensation Anitta made her show-stopping Coachella debut on Friday as she welcomed American West Coast rap icon Snoop Dogg onto the stage.

Her troupe of dancers made a grand entrance with Snoop Dogg and later on Saweetie took to the stage as the second surprise guest of the night to sing their collab, “Faking Love”.

Music sensation Justin Bieber also made an appearance on the first day of Coachella when he joined Daniel Caesar and sent the crowd wild.

The pair performed their collaboration “Peaches” with Bieber singing to the crowd while shirtless.

Harry Styles’ welcomed Shania Twain

English singer-songwriter Harry Styles stunned fans with new song performances along with a surprise cameo from the country icon, Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain.

After crediting listening to Twain’s albums with teaching him how to sing, Styles’ introduced her onto the stage to duet hits “Man I Feel Like A Woman” and “Still The One”.

More unexpected performances

During Phoebe Bridgers’ fantastic festival performance, British rising star Arlo Parks entered the stage for their transatlantic duet.

Parks casually appeared to provide backing vocals to an incredible rendition of Bridgers’ love songs “Graceland Too” and “I Know The End”.

British rapper Slowthai was also responsible for another one of the first day’s most unexpected pleasures as he began a dance party set to Aqua’s 1997 hit “Barbie Girl.”

Another talking point of the day occurred when 27-year-old Atlanta rapper Lil Baby closed his set with a powerful performance of “The Bigger Picture”, the protest song written and released in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.
