Steven Montano Shot Andres Vasquez Lasso: What Happened With Him?

Steven Montano reportedly killed Andres Vasquez-Lasso during a close-range shootout as Steven was being gone after by police in the Gage Park neighborhood just before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, Andres Vasquez-Lasso and other sheriffs were called to the area following a report of a female who was being run after by a man carrying a gun.

At the scene, police said, Andres located Steven and started chasing him on foot before the shooting occurred.

While Andres was beaten multiple times and later died, he was able to gunfire his own weapon, striking Steven in the head, and Steven was hospitalized in critical condition.

Steven has a hearing scheduled for Friday in bond court, though it is not clear whether he’ll be able to take part due to his injuries.

Police have shared very little information about the suspect Steven Montano, saying only that he had a record of one previous arrest. Records show Steven was arrested near 2 handguns last summer after running from a thieve car that was wanted in a shooting.
